The Daily General Lyceum of Monemvasia is participating in the Erasmus Days 2025, a celebration taking place across Europe, dedicated to highlighting the values of collaboration, creativity, and learning beyond borders. This initiative aims to activate the student community around environmental awareness and volunteerism, showcase the results of Erasmus+ projects, and strengthen the school’s connection with society while effectively utilizing social media for community benefit.
In a specific effort aligned with these goals, activities are set to be carried out under the direction of the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Western Greece. One of the featured activities is an interactive game titled “Finding the Hidden Green Treasure – Erasmus Days 2025.”
The concept is straightforward:
Students and educators will create plant pots (by painting or using recyclable materials) and leave them in random locations around the city, each embedded with a QR code linking to the initiative and the school’s website.
Those who discover these pots can either keep them, relocate them, or participate further by creating and leaving their own pots.
Adults, parents, and citizens who engage in this game are encouraged to share photos with a thank-you message on social media, or to provide location details of where they placed the pots for future participants.
It is important to note that social media posts from the initial pot locations should be made by parents or teachers, not the students themselves. Contributors are reminded to include the hashtag #ErasmusDays in their posts.
On Sunday, October 12, 2025, students gathered at the schoolyard to collect the pots, which they will decorate in the following days and subsequently distribute in various spots around the city.
In a statement, the school director, Maria Kountouri, along with the Erasmus project coordinator, Matina Tserefou, emphasized that the initiative will occur within the school grounds as well as in the neighborhoods of their small town, at the Bridge and the Castle. They aim to convey a message promoting integration, tolerance, justice, solidarity, and equality.
The participation of everyone is deemed essential, as collective spirit and creativity are crucial to successfully fulfill the initiative’s mission.
