On Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 18:00, the Hellenic Military Museum in Athens will host the presentation of a significant new historical work. This event will take place in the amphitheater named after Ioannis Kapodistrias, where the book titled «Nikitaras: Hero and Hubris – In the Pantheon of Heroes» by the renowned author Zacharoula Papadaki will be unveiled.
This literary piece, published by the «Leimon» publishing house, serves as a tribute to Nikitaras, a hero who may not be well-known yet played a crucial role in the historical events that shaped modern Greece. The book aims to honor this pivotal figure, Nikitas Stamatelopoulos, emphasizing his contributions to Greek history.
The ceremony will feature notable speakers, including esteemed experts in History, National Policy, International Relations, Geopolitics, and Strategy. They will discuss various dimensions of the book, such as:
– Ismini Kriari, Emeritus Professor and former Rector of Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences
– Ioannis Mazi, Emeritus Professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
– Konstantinos Grivas, Professor of Geopolitics at the Hellenic Military Academy
– Periklis Nearhou, Former Ambassador
– Nicoleta Zigouri, Historian and Doctoral Candidate, who also served as the book’s historical editor
Journalist Giannis Moutsios will coordinate the event.
Adding to the night’s artistic flair, Alexander Hahalakis will direct the artistic aspect of the evening. He will present musical compositions and visual art inspired by excerpts from the book, featuring distinguished artists such as singers Marita paparizou, Agapi Papamitsou, and Anastasios Theodorakakos, alongside the actor Nikos Verlekis. There will also be artistic projections resulting from a collaboration with directors Dimitris Zisopoulos, Giannis Korodimos, and sculptor Georgios Roussis.
Attendees will have the opportunity to view a special exhibition showcasing rare historical artifacts from Spiridon Katsiras, President of the «Ellenomnimonas» Association.
