On May 10, 2026, the Greek Mountaineering Club of Molai and Southeastern Laconia (E.O.S. M.N.A.L) is set to co-organize a hiking expedition in the heart of the Central Parnon mountain range, in collaboration with the E.O.S. of Tripoli. This exciting event will take participants along a scenic route from Polydroso (Tzitzina) to Simayiki Lakka, Pelalistra, and Rahi Psari (1839 m), before returning to Polydroso.
The chosen hiking path traverses one of the most authentic and pristine mountainous landscapes in the Peloponnese. As hikers make their way through dense fir forests and across small plateau-like areas, they will experience a profound connection with nature, memory, and local traditions.
These trails are steeped in history, having been used for centuries by local shepherds and farmers. They served as vital routes for daily life, communication, and trade. Thus, hiking in this region is not merely an exercise in nature appreciation; it is a journey through collective memory, a pilgrimage to the resilience and trials of the Greek people.
Participants are invited to gather at the Panagiotopoulos Brothers (old) in Molai at 7:00 AM. Transportation will be arranged via private vehicles to Tzitzina (Polydroso), with coordination for fuel costs.
