The recent publication of a new poetic collection has captivated literary enthusiasts. Launched in March 2026 by 24grammata editions, this volume, comprising 88 pages and featuring 67 poetic compositions, is divided into two sections, firmly establishing the author’s significant presence in contemporary Greek literature.
This sixth collection adds another link to an extensive literary journey that spans almost two decades. It highlights the dual identity of its creator—a mathematician and a poet-philosopher. These seemingly incompatible realms—the rigor of mathematics and the fluidity of poetic expression—coexist within the author’s work in a manner that is both organic and creative.
The collection’s title serves as a central axis for interpretation. The term «insufficient boundaries» transcends mere mathematical or abstract notions; it ventures into the social, political, and existential dimensions of human life. The poet suggests that the boundaries established by modern individuals—ethical, social, and political—are often unstable, permeable, and frequently inadequate to contain the tensions and contradictions of contemporary society.
The author’s mathematical background subtly informs his work, deploying concepts such as «the principle of indeterminacy,» «correlations,» «data,» and «networks» not merely as metaphors but as fundamental thinking tools. Here, poetry does not abandon logic; it incorporates it, embracing a unique literary rationality.
One of the most striking features of this collection is its social and political dimension. The poet moves beyond introspective inquiries, directing his gaze toward society and providing critical commentary on power dynamics, inequalities, and ideological distortions of the epoch. His language is direct and often denunciatory, yet it maintains a contemplative tone that shuns superficial rhetoric.
The author’s mathematical training fundamentally shapes his poetic identity. His thought process is characterized by structure, precision, and logical consistency, even while expressing intense emotions. Consequently, his poetry becomes a meeting ground for analysis and experience, science and art.
The author hails from Valyra in Messinia and currently resides in Kalamata. He is married to Georgia Maglara, a philologist, and they share two daughters. With an MSc in Moral Philosophy, he has served as both a Director and educator in Secondary Education before retiring. His public service includes roles as a Municipal and Regional Councilor, and he has held positions as a member and President of the Board of the A’ ELMEs Messinia.
In addition to his sixth collection, he has previously published five other volumes, including titles that reflect his enduring literary commitment: «Closed Doors… Open Windows» (2007), «Unmonitored Crossings…» (2012), «Congestion of Absentees» (2020), «Crack of Courage» (2021), and «Guilt… Tolerance» (2025). As a member of the UNESCO Club of Arts, Letters, and Sciences, he has also contributed hundreds of articles to various newspapers, magazines, and digital platforms.
For those interested in exploring profound themes that intertwine the worlds of mathematics and poetry, the collection offers a compelling journey through the complexities of human existence, emphasizing the importance of examining the societal frameworks that often confine us.
