On May 17, 2026, the picturesque village of Plytra in the Municipality of Monemvasia became a vibrant hub of community spirit as it hosted the second consecutive event of «Act for Autism – Run with the Spectrum of Life.» This initiative, organized by the Parents, Guardians, and Friends Association of Individuals with Autism in Laconia, known as «Spectrum of Life,» attracted participants of all ages, showcasing a collective commitment to supporting individuals with autism.
The event saw a remarkable turnout, with families and friends coming together to run and walk, sending a powerful message of solidarity and awareness for autism. The presence of children and adults alike highlighted the community’s sensitivity and dedication to addressing the needs of individuals on the autism spectrum.
The organizing committee expressed heartfelt gratitude to various contributors who played pivotal roles in the event’s success. Special thanks were extended to the Regional Federation of Disabled Persons of Peloponnese and its President, Nikos Karalis, for their support and participation. The meticulous planning and execution of the athletic event were credited to coach Lampros Taratsa, while the local police department, led by Commander Evangelos Drivas, ensured the smooth operation of the races.
The Municipality of Monemvasia also received appreciation for its efforts in traffic management and event licensing, alongside the local community of Papadianika for their involvement. The event was made possible through the generous support of numerous sponsors, including agricultural cooperatives, local businesses, and health services, all of whom contributed to the event’s logistics and promotion.
