A successful educational exchange has recently concluded, involving a group of students and teachers from the 3rd General Lyceum of Sparta, Greece, who traveled to Lithuania as part of the Erasmus+ accreditation program. This initiative, identified by project code 2025-1-EL-01-KA121-SCH-000339396, took place from May 2 to May 9, 2026, in the cities of Kaunas and Vilnius.
Leading the delegation was the school’s director, Stavroula Lagou, accompanied by teacher Aikaterini Exomanidi and a group of seven students from the first and second grades of high school. The program was organized in collaboration with the Vytauto Didžiojo universiteto klasikinio ugdymo licėjus in Lithuania, featuring a variety of educational, cultural, and experiential activities that included participation from students from Lithuania and France.
During their stay, the students had the opportunity to:
- Explore the Lithuanian educational system through attending classes and engaging in collaborative workshops.
- Participate in activities focused on well-being in the school environment, sustainability, and democratic values.
- Attend workshops on Robotics, 3D Design, and Printing.
- Immerse themselves in Lithuania’s history, culture, and traditions through visits to museums, historical monuments, and cultural sites.
- Develop social, linguistic, digital, and collaborative skills through international cooperation and group activities.
Significant visits included the Science Island in Kaunas, the Trakai Castle, the Rumšiškės Open-Air Museum, and Grūtas Park, where students engaged in activities that fostered discussions around democracy, historical memory, acceptance of diversity, and European identity.
Participation in the Erasmus+ program provided a unique learning experience and cultural exchange, enhancing the school’s outreach and cultivating a spirit of cooperation, solidarity, and active European citizenship among the students.
