On June 4, 2026, a significant agreement was reached between Thanos Davakis, the Deputy Minister of National Defense and MP for Laconia, and Petros Andreakos, the Mayor of Eastern Mani. They formalized the handover of a portion of land measuring 13,039.83 square meters from the former “Mantouvalos” military camp in Gytheio.
