In a significant move to enhance local infrastructure, the Peloponnese Region is advancing important improvement works on the municipal road leading to Velanidia in the Municipality of Monemvasia. This initiative comes as part of a collaborative effort between the Regional Governor of Peloponnese, Dimitris Ptochos, and the Mayor of Monemvasia, Iraklis Tricheilis, who formalized their partnership by signing a relevant program agreement. The signing ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Regional Governor of Laconia, Theodoros Veroutis.
The project carries a total budget of €200,000 and focuses on the maintenance of the road network. Planned works include:
– Restoration of the roadway
– Improvement of technical structures
– Enhancement of road signage and safety measures
The primary goal of this intervention is to provide safer and higher-quality service for both residents and visitors in the area.
During the signing of the agreement, Governor Dimitris Ptochos emphasized the importance of collaboration with the Mayor of Monemvasia, stating, “Our partnership is essential and ongoing. It touches every aspect of citizens’ daily lives, from infrastructure and road safety to the small and large projects that improve life in local communities. Today’s signing is yet another example. By improving the road, we enhance the safety of travel and upgrade a vital local infrastructure.”
