In a remarkable achievement, the Sakellaropoulos organic olive groves have garnered an impressive 16 prestigious awards from as many entries (a 100% success rate) at a recent competition in Argentina. This accomplishment has led to the establishment of an astonishing world record of 1,458 international distinctions, marking the first time in the history of global olive oil production that a producer from any country has reached such a milestone.
This historic feat was achieved at the OLIVINUS International Olive Oil Competition 2026, held in Mendoza, Argentina, from September 5 to 11, 2026. Recognized as the premier competition in the Americas and the Southern Hemisphere, OLIVINUS boasts a high level of difficulty, rated 9/10 in the global EVOO World Ranking.
During the competition, 35 international judges tasted hundreds of olive oils from 21 countries using a blind tasting method. The challenge was particularly significant for the Greek samples, which were produced nearly a year prior, competing against the entirely fresh olive oils from the Southern Hemisphere.
The Sakellaropoulos organic and gourmet olive oils achieved scores exceeding 90%, with some reaching as high as 97%, securing spots among the Champions and the Top 20 olive oils in the overall ranking. Additionally, they earned the title of «Best Greek Olive Oil» (Best Grecia), accumulating a total of 7 Grand Prestige Gold, 4 Prestige Gold, and 3 Gold awards.
Noteworthy is the PLUS HEALTH DMB evoo, which, despite being a year old, received a remarkable score of 97%, showcasing the superior quality and innovation of products from Sparta.
