In a recent announcement, the Parents’ Association of Individuals with Autism in Laconia, known as «Spectrum of Life,» has raised concerns regarding the unjustifiable delay in the launch of the EETAA platform for submitting voucher applications for Child Development Centers (KDAP), Nursery Schools, and KDAP for Individuals with Disabilities. This delay has created significant anxiety among parents, especially as the operational start date for these facilities is set for September 1.
The association, led by President Margarita Spiridakou, highlighted that last year, the electronic submission of applications commenced on July 11 and concluded by August 1. Typically, parents submit their applications through the KDAP or with the assistance of their accountants. However, this year’s delay complicates matters, as both KDAP and Nursery Schools close at the end of July for summer vacations, along with accounting offices.
This situation has left parents in a state of uncertainty regarding the outcome of their applications, particularly as the start of various creative engagement services looms just around the corner. Historically, the application process began much earlier in some years, allowing parents to meet tight deadlines without the added pressure of last-minute submissions.
The association urges the relevant authorities to recognize that the functioning of an organized state should be characterized by stability rather than uncertainty. As the September deadline approaches, the need for a timely resolution becomes increasingly critical for families relying on these essential services.
