The city of Tripoli is gearing up for an exciting event as the Health Runners Association of Tripoli (ΣΔΥΤ) prepares to host the 27th Kolokotronios Road Race, featuring a 10-kilometer run and a 1,000-meter race for children. This year’s event is particularly special as it commemorates the anniversary of Tripoli’s liberation. Event Details
Race Information:
- Date & Location: Sunday, September 13, 2026, in Tripoli, Arcadia.
- Start & Finish Line: The race will commence and conclude at Areos Square, right in front of the statue of Theodoros Kolokotronis.
- Start Time: The 10-kilometer race will kick off at 9:30 AM.
Course Details:
- Participants can view the race route on Google Maps here.
- There will be two hydration stations along the route (at the 3rd and 6th kilometers), providing bottled water. At the finish line, runners will also receive water, bananas, and selected snacks.
Timing & Results:
- Electronic timing will be utilized, with unofficial results announced immediately after the race. Official results will be published in the following days after a review by the technical committee.
Participation Requirements:
- Both runners and walkers are welcome to participate. Those entering the 10-kilometer race must be born in 2011 or earlier.
- A time limit of 1 hour and 40 minutes is set for completing the 10 kilometers. After this period, participants may continue at their own risk.
Commemorative Medals:
- All finishers of the 10-kilometer race will receive a commemorative medal featuring Theodoros Kolokotronis.
Awards & Age Categories
Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as to winners in the following age categories:
- Men: Up to 29 years | 30–39 | 40–49 | 50–59 | 60–69 | 70+ years.
- Women: Up to 29 years | 30–39 | 40–49 | 50–59 | 60+ years.
(Note: Overall winners are excluded from age categories.)
Children’s Race
A parallel event for children will take place, featuring a 1,000-meter race:
- Eligibility: Open to boys and girls aged 6 to 13 years.
- Start Time: 9:00 AM.
- Start & Finish Location: Areos Square.
- Prizes: All participating children will receive a commemorative medal upon finishing.

10-kilometer Race (Adults):
- Early Bird Registration: €8 (valid for individual registrations completed by July 31, 2026).
- Regular Individual Registration: €10.
- Group Registration: €8 per person (for clubs, running teams, gyms, companies, or groups of more than 10 people).
Children’s 1,000-meter Race:
- Cost: Free participation.
- Note: Registration must be submitted electronically by a guardian for proper event planning.
- Registration Deadline: Closes on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 10:00 PM.
- Important: No registrations will be accepted on the day of the race.
