On Sunday, May 31, 2026, the Municipality of Eastern Mani, in collaboration with the Parent-Teacher Associations of Primary and Secondary Education, along with the Pan-Gytheatic Sports Club, will host the 8th Annual Road Race «Pangytheiada 2026.» This event promises to be a vibrant celebration of community spirit and athleticism.
The race will feature a City Tour for adults and high school students, as well as children’s races for elementary school students, kindergartens, and preschoolers. Participants are encouraged to register by filling out the participation form available online.
Event Location:
The races will take place at the Cultural Center of Eastern Mani, specifically at the Parthenagogeio Square.
Race Schedule:
- 5 km Race: 17:00
- Special Schools 200m Race: 18:05
- Preschool and Kindergarten Race 200m: 18:15
- 500m Race (1st-2nd Grade): 18:30
- 800m Race (3rd-4th Grade): 18:45
- 1200m Race (5th-6th Grade): 19:00
- Awards Ceremony for 5km and Children’s Races: 19:20
Participants are advised to arrive at the starting area at least 30 minutes before their race. A minimum of five participants is required for each category to proceed with the race.
Start & Finish Location:
Both the start and finish will be at the Cultural Center of Eastern Mani.
Race Course:
The races will be held on public roads that are fully paved and monitored. During the event, vehicle traffic will be completely halted along the Gythio beach area.
Awards and Medals:
In the children’s races, the top three boys and girls will receive commemorative participation trophies, while all finishers will be awarded a «commemorative medal.» For the 5 km race, the top three women and men will also receive trophies and participation medals, with all finishers receiving a commemorative medal. Additionally, the top three students from middle and high schools will be recognized in the same manner.
Participation Cost:
Entry to all races is free of charge.
Time Limit for Completion:
For the 5 km race, there is a one-hour time limit for completion. Participants may continue running after this time at their own risk.
Race Officials:
The event will be overseen by Georgia Paraí and Panagiotis Syllaíos.
Medical Coverage:
An ambulance with medical personnel will be on standby at the Gythio Health Center. A doctor and at least one trained first aid provider will be present at the race site. All participants take part at their own risk, and organizers are not liable for any health issues arising from a lack of preventive medical checks.
Athlete Refreshments:
At the finish line, bottled water, fruits, and juices will be available for all participants. A water station will also be provided at the 3 km mark for those in the 5 km City Tour.
Awards Ceremony:
The awards will take place at 19:20 following the conclusion of the races at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Eastern Mani.
Number Collection:
Participants can collect their race numbers on the day of the event from 11:00 to 13:00, as well as one hour before the start of each race, at the event’s registration desk located at Parthenagogeio Square.
