On Saturday, July 19, 2025, the Holy Metropolis of Monemvasia and Sparta will host the grand inauguration of the Sacred Church of Saint Ananias, the Ethno-martyr and Bishop of Laconia. This significant event will take place in the vicinity of the Laconia Governorate in Sparta, marking a momentous occasion for the local community and the Orthodox Church.
The festivities will commence the evening prior, on Friday, July 18, at 7:00 PM, with the Archieratical Vespers and the deposition of sacred relics, led by the esteemed Metropolitan of the region, Mr. Efstathios. This solemn ceremony will set the tone for the following day’s celebrations.
On the morning of Saturday, July 19, from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM, the community will gather for the Orthros service, the inauguration ceremony, and the first Archieratical Divine Liturgy, presided over by the revered Shepherd of the Metropolis.
