A significant fire broke out on the evening of Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at a tire business located on the 2nd kilometer of the Molai-Metamorfosi road. The blaze ignited around 6:00 PM in the southern section of the building, with the cause still under investigation.
At the time of the incident, the business had just ceased operations for the day, but one employee remained on-site and promptly called for assistance. Emergency services responded swiftly, deploying ten fire trucks and 25 firefighters who managed to bring the fire under control in less than an hour.
A crucial factor in mitigating the disaster was the collaboration between the firefighters and local citizens, who successfully moved tires from the sales area, preventing further damage. Despite their efforts, the fire caused extensive damage, and concerns arose regarding the structural integrity of the metal building due to the high temperatures.
Ironically, the fire started behind the car wash, coinciding with a power outage triggered by the departure of the staff, which rendered the water pumps inoperative. The area has since been cordoned off, and experts are expected to arrive to investigate the cause of the fire.
This incident highlights the importance of safety measures in businesses, particularly those dealing with flammable materials. As investigations continue, the community remains on alert, reflecting on the potential hazards present in everyday operations.
