The Monemvasia Gymnasium has recently announced a significant achievement: it has been awarded the National Quality Label in eTwinning for two outstanding European projects completed during the previous academic year. This recognition highlights the school’s commitment to fostering quality education and innovative learning experiences.
The projects that garnered this prestigious distinction are:
“Quality Education: Our Path to a Better Future”: This initiative engaged students in exploring the Sustainable Development Goals related to education, encouraging them to think critically about the future of learning and its impact on society.
“Tourist Destinations Through Van Gogh’s Eyes”: In this creative collaboration, the art of Vincent Van Gogh was intertwined with the promotion of tourist destinations, utilizing modern digital tools to enhance the learning experience and engage students in a unique way.
The success of these projects is attributed to the dedicated educators behind them: Angeliki Oikonomopoulou, Theodora Kapelieri, and Giota Saloupi. Their meticulous planning, coordination, and guidance played a crucial role in the successful execution of these initiatives.
Dimitrios Tountas, the Principal of the Gymnasium, expressed his gratitude to the European partners for their exemplary collaboration. He also extended heartfelt thanks to the students for their creativity, enthusiasm, and active participation, which made this recognition possible.
This achievement not only reflects the hard work of the educators and students but also underscores the importance of international collaboration in education. The Monemvasia Gymnasium stands as a testament to the power of innovative teaching methods and the potential of students when given the opportunity to engage with global issues.
